Judge: Charlottesville Must Take Shrouds Off Confederate Statues

A judge ordered Charlottesville city council to remove the tarps currently covering statues of Robert E Lee and Stonewall Jackson. Originally they were put up as a way to show solidarity with the loss of life during the “Unite the Rally” in August of 2017. The judge also ruled that the city council cannot remove the statues until the lawsuit placed by the Sons of Confederate Veterans is concluded on whether the statues need to stay in the local squares.
